TVXQ Colors Melody And Harmony, DVD Tops Oricon Charts

The boy band TVXQ, which has been emroiled in a conflict with its agency recently, has topped the Japanese Oricon music chart yet again.

The project single “Colors Melody And Harmony” from the TVXQ members Hero and Mickey, which was released on August 30, posted sales of 103,940 copies on day one of its release and topped the Oricon single chart.

TVXQ’s DVD “4th Live Tour 2009 - The Secret Code - Final in Tokyo Dome,” which was released on the same day with the single, also topped the Oricon chart in the DVD category, beating the top Japanese band Kinki Kids.

TVXQ’s single set a record in TVXQ’s history by recording the first shipment of 180,000 copies, and so did the DVD about the group’s concert at the Tokyo Dome. The single was downloaded more than 250,000 times before its release. Experts say it will likely become TVXQ’s first single to post sales of more than 300,000 copies.
