Seo Taiji Reaches No.1 With Moai

No promotion? No problem if your Seo Taiji. The Kpop pioneer won first place on the KBS2 TV show Music Bank last August 29 with the title song Moai which is off his eighth album. Even more remarkable was that unlike most singers, Seo won the coveted award without doing any promotional or broadcasting activities.

Only a handful of artists have ever been able to win first place without doing any broadcasting activities, and media personalities were impressed that Seo Taiji was able to accomplish the feat. Even more amazing was that two of the three first place candidate songs were Moai and Human Dream, all Seo’s songs. This again proving his enduring popularity.

Asked in a recent interview why he hasn’t done any broadcasting activities for his songs, Seo Taiji said: “I want to do broadcasting activities as long as I can show people my music. But there aren’t many programs where I can do that, so I will only appear in special programs where I can really show my songs.”
