Girls’ Generation Issues Apology and Thanks After Silent Treatment

All things are not so well with the girls in the Girls’ Generation camp. After getting the silent treatment during their live performance in the concluded Dream Concert last June 7, the girls of SNSD issued a formal apology to fans while thanking fans who have stood by their side.

It seems like Girls’ Generation have two distinct group of ‘fans’: those who hate them (the anti-fans) and those who love them. Unfortunately for SNSD, their seems to be no in-between. Hopefully, this message will offer a reconciliatory tone for these two Love-Hate groups.

To everyone who loves Girls’ Generation~

Hello… This is SNSD.

This is our first time leaving a message on our homepage. We should have greeted you sooner.

For the past 10 months until now, we received your love and worked hard since our debut. We believe that we were able to receive this big love due to the cheers from those who love us.

Looking back, weren’t there a lot happy memories? For a long time, we dreamed of debuting. We had our first fan meeting after our first stage performance. The moment we broke down and cried after winning 1st place for the first time in the Music Program, from winning the new artist award which we looked up to our other senior artists who previously won them. From promoting ‘Into the New World’, ‘Kissing You’, ‘Baby Baby’… we received so much love and joyful despite our busy schedules.

To our fans who gave us these wonderful memories and gifts, thank you.

The past 10 months had valuable memories but looking back, there were moments we regret. These regretful moments have made us more mature and made us realize things, our inappropriate speech and behavior, our impolite words during broadcast - we would like to send our sincerest apologies for the hurt we caused people due to all the inappropriate words and actions we did. In the future, SNSD will be more careful in our speech and behavior.

Once again we would like to thank everyone who believed in us and loved us. To all our fans who cheer for us anytime and anywhere, holding their heart-shaped pink balloons. We can’t find words to express our gratefulness. We will sing with more effort and with all out heart!

We are preparing to come back with a new image. To everyone who have shown their love for us, we are studying harder and will put in more effort. We ask that you look forward to us!~
