The first episode of the new KBS 2TV drama ‘Iris,’ starring Hallyuwood stars Lee Byung-hun and Kim Tae-hee was finally aired on the 14th.
Not many didn't know but the drama with a 20 billion won production cost almost didn't air as scheduled due to conflicts between the production team of the drama and KBS. Before ‘Iris’ was aired, production companies such as Taewon Entertainment, H Plus and KBS were not able to narrow the differences over how they should divide the profits for overseas sales of the drama and this resulted conflict in the contract. At one point, the production company took a strong stance, threatening that they would not agree on the airing of the drama.
Fortunately for fans, the two sides found a middle ground right before the first episode of the drama was scheduled to air. Both agreed on a final contract on the 13th. A source from KBS said, “Both sides stepped back because we all thought that we shouldn't stop the drama from not being aired for the sake of our audience.”
