Choi Jung-won and Song Il-gook Meet in Kingdom of the Wind

Hallyuwood Actress Choi Jung-won has been eyed as the leading candidate to become the leading lady opposite Hallyuwood superstar Song Il-gook.

If everything goes as planned, Choi Jung-won will be play the role of Yuni in the KBS2 TV drama ‘Kingdom of the Wind’ (Korean: 바람의 나라).

Song Il-gook will play the lead role of Great King Daemusin, one of the three Great Kings during the Goguryeo Dynasty. Choi Jung-won’s Yuni will play Song Il-gook’s King Daemusin love interest.

Also starring in the historical drama are Hallyuwood movie star Jeong Jin-yeong and Oh Yoon-ah. Jeong Jin-yeong, who will be acting in a TV drama for the first time, has been cast in the role of King Yuri. Oh Yoon-ah has been cast as the nanny of King Daemusin. ‘Kingdom of the Wind’ will be the first historical drama for the two actors to star in.

The story of King Daemusin served as a model and inspiration for the comic book and MMORPG video game ’Kingdom of the Wind’. The drama is scheduled to be aired this September with a production cost of more than KRW 20 billion (around US$ 20 million). The drama will tell the lives of the people and the establishment of the Goguryeo Dynasty.
